How to get to the Bullring in Tijuana
Plaza Monumental - Playas de Tijuana

There are several ways to get to the bullring, one is by car, by taxi, or by bus. The easiest way is to take the bus, as it will take you directly to the bullring and then back to the border, of course thats if it is the only thing you want to do. If you plan on taking a visit, then you can drive (if you're brave enough) or take a taxi. The following is how to do one of the above:

The Bus (Ten Wheels) - Best Way!

MexicoCoach FiveStarTours
One of the first busses to take you into Mexico, though this one doesnt go to the bullring, it does go to the shops on Avenida Revolucion, and Rosarito.

More Info can be found on their website, including rates, schedules, and more. Click Here.

Five Star Tours provides direct transportation to and from the Bullring. All departures are from the Santa Fe Train Station in Downtown San Diego (our headquarters).

We can also arrange for pick up for groups larger than ten. Click Here for More info.

Four Wheels

Car
Are you NUTS! (just kidding), if you drive in Mexico like you drive at home, you wont have a car when you leave Mexico. Its not a good idea to have the police pulling you over for any infraction.

The speed limits in Mexico are not by MPH, but by KPH (kilometers per hour), so if you see a sign that says (90), that doesn't mean to go 90mph, its 45mph period.

But, but, but the Mexican drivers are going fast!? yeah, so? Let them get caught, its going to be harder for you to get your way out of JAIL!

Ok now that I got that across...follow either Interstate 5 or 805 south thru San Diego, when you're within 5 miles of the border, you'll see the signs "International Border", just keep going.

If you're going to take the bus, or walk across, exit the "Last US Exit", there's a parking lot across and to the right of you when you come to the light.

If still driving, pass it up, continue...you will see some white square boxes, with red tainted windows, on top of K rails (concrete barriers), their taking a photo of your License plate. Pass that up, and continue thru the next crossing, which is the Mexican version of a scale, it weighs your car, and you'll either get a green light or red light.

Red light means you have to go into secondary inspection, they'll just look into your vehicle (and trunk), to see what your bringing in. If all goes well, keep going, but not too fast. Follow the second lane from the right, NOT the FAR right, continue on the overpass (Tijuana river), slow down, the exit is coming, you'll see some cars trying to merge into the traffic lanes, at this point do the same thing but into thier lane (TO the RIGHT), you should now see the exit with a sign "Toll Road Ensenada/Rosarito", follow it.

Keep driving, you should have the border fence to the right of you, if you don't, uh oh, CALL 911!! uh no better yet, go to the nearest liquor store or mall, and ask directions to "Playas de Tijuana - Cuota 1D".

If you do have the fence to the right, continue up the hill, and stay to the right, of two lanes. As you reach the top, the road will veer to the left down the hill, STAY RIGHT and take the exit to the RIGHT. Follow that road, in the RIGHT LANE. About 3/4 of mile you will come to a Military Check Point, don't worry just follow their instructions. Once you are given the green light to continue, keep following in the right lane, you should now see the bullring in the near distance, again stay to the right and keep going straight, you should now be at the signal light before the entrance to the bullring, turn in parking is FREE.

After the bullfight is over you have to get back right? Well just follow the other cars in front of you, most are going straight to the border, once your past the military checkpoint (on other side, not yours), look for an onramp that says to San Diego, follow that. Now your driving along the border again, but the other way. Follow this until you get to some signal lights, the entrance to the border line is after that.

Beware though, the wait in line to get back across with a car, can be up to 3 hours! That happened to me on the 1st of July. I f you miss that onramp, as sometimes the police block it off, continue straight and look for signs that state San Diego, and follow those. Or stop and ask someone.

Walking across is a good idea, but then take a taxi to the bullring. Shouldn't cost but 6-12 dlls one way.

Good Luck
